Avanti AC/DC Superconductor Refrigerator, Model# SHP1712SDC

Avanti AC/DC Superconductor Refrigerator, Model# SHP1712SDC

Avanti AC/DC Superconductor Refrigerator, Model# SHP1712SDC
Decent
The fridge arrived with several large dents as other reviewers have mentioned they only include 1/4 inch of Styrofoam for packaging. It also would not turn on... upon further inspection I could see the internal AC hot and common connections were disconnected so I opened it up and plugged those back in.

I put a remote temperature sensor in the fridge and let it cool to 32 degrees (cold as it will get on high) then put a 20 oz pop bottle in that was full of 80F degree water. It took 3 hours to cool to below 40 degrees and it actually warmed the air temp of the fridge up to 42 at one point. If you put a lot of room temp stuff in there I imagine it would take at least 24 hours to cool it all.

Pros:
-Lightweight (really easy to move it only weighs like 23 pounds)
-Efficient (pulls less than 100 watts and keeps stuff cold)
-AD/DC modes is nice
-No moving parts except for heatsink fan and coldsink fan.
-Lots of space, due to the lightweight...

Avanti AC/DC Rerigerator
I have used this fridge once in my new custom goat trailer with living quarters. Worked very well on DC power in the trailer and AC in the house for a test run. My only complaint is that the product was dented when shipped. We determined the dents would not effect operation and therefore not worth sending back to manufacturer. The unit runs fine, just the housing was dinged.

Like everyone said...
Just received our Avanti fridge for one of our truck drivers. Like everyone said, it came with some dented corners and beat up box but it seems to work fine in the house on an A/C test run. For the price, seems like a great little fridge. We'll see how it holds up to the highway miles.

This Avanti refrigerator provides 1.7 cu. ft. of refrigeration capacity with powerful, efficient superconductor cooling technology. Operates on 115V AC or 12V DC power with included 12V adapter. Compact unit is designed for semi-trucks, boats, RVs, dormitories, offices, hotels and more. Dimensions L x W x H (in.): 18 3/4 x 17 x 20 1/4, Power Cord (ft.): 6

  • Features full-range temperature control, soft interior light with on/off switch and auto defrost
  • Tall bottle rack on door holds a 2-liter bottle
  • Adjustable, removable shelf
  • Stainless steel door has reversible swing

Haier HLP21N 6.6-Pound Pulsator Wash with Stainless Steel Tub

Haier HLP21N 6.6-Pound Pulsator Wash with Stainless Steel Tub

Haier HLP21N 6.6-Pound Pulsator Wash with Stainless Steel Tub
What to know before you buy: capacity
I estimate that I have used this washer for 4 loads each week since buying from J&R in early October, 2006. I live in a studio in New York and bought this one because (1) it has a sink adapter, which the front-loading 14.3-lb model didn't seem to include and (2) at 17.5 inches wide/deep, it fit through my bathroom door, which the front-loading 14.3-lb model (at 20.5 inches wide) wouldn't.

Out of the box, you have to install an included metal pan at the bottom. Install it so that it is convex: there's a reason that the legs are so high. One of the problems I had during installation was that one of the screws holding this metal pan to the body comes very close to a clamp holding the gooseneck drain tube as it exits the body. The clamp had fallen out of position, and the end of the screw is close to where the clamp goes. I don't think I was ever in danger of puncturing the drainage tube, but it's something to watch out for.

You need a place to hang the drainage...

Good, very finicky, better than using the common
I've saved a lot of money using this rather than paying the apartment common wash fee. I would buy it again if nothing was better on the market, but there are a few cons that you should know about, and a few tips I'll share at the end of the review:

- You can't really leave the apartment while running it. The water outflow hose can come loose and water can dump into your bathroom. See tips.

- You can't run it at "high" water level. Leave it on "medium". My best guess is that the water sensor works like a "brita" filter -- it counts spins of a water-wheel to estimate the amount of water in the tub. This is not very accurate and on the "high" setting, the tank will overflow and dump water on the floor.

- It often requires intervention once during the wash cycle. It stops and reports an unbalanced load, which can start an endless fight to rebalance the wash. It's not an overfill issue -- it's a pure balance issue. This happens on 30% of my loads. See tips...

How did I live in New York City for ten years without this?
No seriously, how have I been living in apartments for a decade without this machine? Through single and couple-dom life, I've been dragging my clothes to the local (and not-so local) laundromat resulting in frantic minutes scrounging for quarters, two hours of boredom, whites slowly turning yellow in those questionable big machines and a less-than-enthused significant other. Sometimes, I would just give up and wash those needed socks or undershirt in the shower praying they would dry hung up overnight. It was one of those nights that I finally had had enough and the boy started scouring the internet for a solution.

This machine is *my* miracle of modern technology and has significantly improved my life in quantifiable hours - and I bet has saved me money in the long run (if you consider it's five dollars per `big' wash load at the laudromat, and they only have `big' load machines.)

At about 2 1/2 feet high and 17 inches wide, this machine easily plugs into a...

Haier's 1.0 cu. ft. compact Pulsator Washer provides the convenience of at-home laundry facilities for spaces where full-size machines are not an option. It is ideal for small apartments, mobile homes, and other places where space is limited. This model features a durable stainless steel tub and gives you a choice of Heavy, Normal, or Quick Wash cycles and Low, Medium, or High water levels for the perfect combination every time. The unit plugs into any standard household 120-Volt outlet and connects quickly and easily to any sink. Get the best fit with the included fill and drain hoses and Quick-Connect sink adapter. It also offers optimum portability since it can be easily rolled away for storage. All this plus quiet operation adds up to the ultimate in compact laundry solutions.

Small Yet Powerful

This easy-to-use, compact washer features a durable stainless steel tub and uses a pulsator system rather than a traditional agitator to create a powerful and effective wash action without the twisting and pulling that an agitator can cause. The absence of an agitator also frees up additional space in the wash tub to provide you with maximum wash load capacity. The pulsating action results in superb cleaning performance in a non-abrasive wash environment. It is gentler on clothes as well, making it excellent for items such as cloth diapers, baby clothes, and delicate.

Digital Controls

Choose from Heavy, Normal, or Quick Wash cycles and Low, Medium, or High electronically controlled water levels on a simple touch pad to get the perfect combination for your load every time. The electronic controls include a pause button should you need to interrupt the cycle for any reason, and a clear viewing window at the top lets you check on your laundry. LED indicator lights clearly display the cycle status, and an end-of-cycle signal alerts you when clothes are clean and ready to be removed.

Easy, No-Fuss Installation

This compact washer doesn’t just fit into small spaces; it connects quickly and easily to any sink. Get the best fit with the included fill and drain hoses and Quick Connect sink adapter. Because the unit plugs into any standard household 120-Volt outlet it can be used virtually anywhere in your living space—no need for specialized or complicated electrical connections. All this plus outstanding portability adds up to the ultimate in compact laundry solutions.

Haier HLP140E 2-3/5-Cubic-Foot Compact Tumble Vented Dryer

Haier HLP140E 2-3/5-Cubic-Foot Compact Tumble Vented Dryer
Independence!
I have only had this dryer for about 10 days now, but I'm very happy with it! There is one other review for this dryer and in it they say it takes a long time for the clothes to dry... this is true. But I think it's to be expected since this dryer can simply be plugged into any outlet unlike a normal dryer. So, smaller dryer... less power... longer drying time. The reason I'm giving this unit 5 stars is because if getting out the laundry mat is as important to you as it was to me, then the extra drying time is more than acceptable. Also, this dryer is VERY QUITE, simple to use and set up. For the first 5 loads I just had the machine sitting on the floor near a window - I didn't even have the hose out the window. It did get my apartment a little warm and humid (not since I've put the hose out the window of course), but I'm just making the point that it is very easy to set up.

How long does it take to dry clothes? I'm still trying to get all the drying times down myself. But...

well packaged and dries well.

Does what it's supposed to do in a convinent size!
I have a model of this I bought about a year ago--it looks slightly different than the one pictured here but has the same model number.

That said, this dryer is GREAT. It does take a while to dry clothes, but I got it to go along with the haier portable washer, and it dries one load in the time it takes another load to wash when I use the power wash setting, so that's pretty good.

However, the automatic settings really don't work that well--like a previous poster, I recommend using the timed dry options.

I also don't have the dryer vented to the outside--I instead purchased an indoor lint trap thing. I don't know that it really does much, but the dryer doesn't seem to release a lot of lint into my apartment. The dryer does add some heat and humidity to the apartment, but that's great in the fall/winter. Not so much in the summer, but it still beats having to go to the laundromat.

If you live in an apartment or somewhere that doesn't have...

Connects to any 120-Volt outlet and matches any Haier Portable Washer. Just mount to a wall and you're set. 4 dryer cycle settings, 3 temperature settings, and drying timer.

  • Compact 1100-watt tumble dryer with 2-3/5-cubic-foot drum
  • Digital touch-control panel; 4 dry cycles; 3 temperature settings; timer
  • Coordinates with Haier portable washers; plugs in to any 120-volt outlet
  • Removable interior lint filter; rear venting; wall-hanging bracket included
  • Measures 16-3/4 by 24-4/5 by 27 inches

GE GSD2100VBB 2100 24
Don't compare to more expensive models, and this one is great!
After comparing various dishwashers - from low-end, $200 models in a a "scratch and dent" sale to mid and upper range ($1500, which felt ridiculous), we settled on this model for a couple reasons. First, it was available to purchase from ABT which is one of the best places to buy appliances in the country even if you live a couple thousand miles away from their showroom. And second, its a very basic and very good priced machine.

Then, a few days after ordering, it got delivered. Arrived in perfect condition and was ready to be hooked up. Overall, hooking it up was very easy, but one of the reasons this gets 4 stars rather than 5 is because there's an elbow connector that you have to buy but it's not included. It's a $2 part. Other manufacturers do the same thing, but it's rather ridiculous - just include the thing! So, after a trip to Lowe's to get the elbow connector, everything hooked up easily and was ready to go! Note that it also doesn't come with a power cord,...

received GE instead of kitchenaid and am very happy
Amazon page is very messed up, so I ordered a kitchenaid dishwasher and got a GE. I am very happy with the GE. It is a simple machine, no bells and whistles and I did not get taken to the cleaners. The price was for the GE. I highly recommend this dishwasher as it is not noisy, but fairly quiet. Cleans really well and like I said simple to use

Not so Hot, Really
We have this unit in our home, and it was put in for us by the listing agent... It does not get that warm inside, so I have no idea how well it sanitizes the dishes. I can ope it on the hot cycle and grab a piece of silverware. If you have a dishwasher worth anything you should not be able to do this.

And it is odd to me that it does not hold as many dishes as a normal 24 inch machine, but the trays are not well designed especially the top tray.

I would not have bought this cheap thing, and I wish that they would have left the old 70s/80s model machine even though it did not match the other appliances.

Buy a better model.

Hamilton Beach 26030 Belgian Waffle Maker

Hamilton Beach 26030 Belgian Waffle Maker

Hamilton Beach 26030 Belgian Waffle Maker
Great Waffle Maker!
I have bought several waffle makers in my life. But this is by far, the best one yet! It is a new model. So, you probably haven't seen many reviews on it yet. So, I thought I would get the ball rolling. ;-) As of this review, I have used it twice, and both times, the waffles came out great -- light and tasty and with VERY LITTLE MESS! No "seasoning" needed! (If you don't know what that means, don't worry about it.)

One thing I recommend on ANY waffle maker is using "non-stick oil spray," REGARDLESS of the claims of "non-stick." There's non-stick, and there's NON-STICK! It NEVER HURTS to use the spray, and it ALWAYS ENSURES easy removal of the cooked waffle and easy cleaning in the dish washer.

I also love how the plates are easily removable and dishwasher safe and then pop right back into the machine. **Be sure that the plates are SECURELY back in their place, before turning on the machine!

Also, be sure to read the instruction manual for...

Hamilton Beach 26030 Review
I would like to say that I was looking all over amazon for a high quality single waffle iron that rotated like the ones in the hotels, had removable griddles for easy cleaning and would not scorch your waffles on a regular basis. I would like to say that this is by far the best waffle maker that I have ever owned. No matter what waffle recipe we have put in, if you set it around 2 and watch for the steam to stop coming from the side of the griddles you will have a perfect golden brown waffle. A note on the non-stick, so far they really mean non-stick. we have yet to have a waffle come out half stuck to the griddle. And my lovely lady has even forgotten to butter the griddles before a few waffles and it was never a problem. I will say that the first waffle is the most even in terms of golden brown. the consecutive waffles seem to be a little lighter towards the back of the unit. probably would even itself out if you were patient enough to let the irons even out in-between each...

Love It!
Love it, love it, love it!!! Since I have purchased this waffle maker, I have used it several times, and it's a breeze to use. I've used package mix as well as scratch recipes for waffles and they all have turned out great.

I have purchased several waffle makers in the past, and I don't care how carefully you prep your waffle iron, one waffle will ultimately stick and it's near impossible to get it completely out to clean because you can't get the iron wet or use something sharp to scrape the waffle out. With this iron the grids "POP OUT" and you can put them in the dishwasher or wash by hand for easy cleaning. I still prep the grids with a little olive oil in a small pump spray, but you could use a store bought spray if you prefer. You just need to use "something" regardless of the "non-stick" claims as it ensures easy removal of your cooked waffle.

I also like how the handle folds in for storage so you can keep it in a narrower space. It's a great machine, and...

Breakfast Trend On the Rise

Breakfast isn't called the most important meal of the day without good cause. Jumpstarting your day with a nutritious breakfast has shown to improve mental performance, give you energy and healthy carbohydrates, and help reduce mindless snacking. What's more, where breakfast is prepared and bought has changed over the years. Instead of traditional breakfast meals and times anymore, consumers are now having breakfast at all times of the day, reinterpreting breakfast foods in creative ways and cooking at home.

Simple Cleanup

The removable waffle grids are dishwasher safe. To clean the drip tray, rinse off excess overflowed batter with hot water. For easy cleanup and storage, wipe down the exterior with a damp, soapy cloth and fold the handle. Do not use steel wool, scouring pads, abrasive cleansers or sharp or pointed objects on any part, as this will tarnish the steel exterior.

COOKING TIPS

Before pouring batter into grids, always spray them with a small amount of nonstick cooking spray. Waffle color and crispiness are determined by the temperature of the grids, so the higher the temperature, the browner and crisper the waffle. If the cover of the waffle maker doesn't lift up easily, let your waffle cook a little longer before lifting the lid again. To store waffles for later reheating, pack in airtight container and keep in the refrigerator or freezer.

Mix In Your Favorite Toppings & Spices

Don't care for plain waffles or need a snazzy new breakfast recipe? Tasting is believing with Hamilton Beach. To mix things up, reduce the amount of batter that you're using and stir one of these sweet treats into the batter before cooking:

  • Chocolate
  • Maple syrup
  • Cinnamon sugar
  • Fresh or dried fruit
  • Pecans or walnuts

TIP: If using nuts in waffle batter, use chopped nuts and/or evenly spread batter to allow lid to fully close.

  • Flip for thick, fluffy waffles
  • Adjustable browning control makes waffles crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside
  • Power on and ready to cook indicator lights tell you when power is on and when to add batter
  • Cool-touch handle folds for easy storage
  • Removable dishwasher safe grids and drip tray

Presto 02910 SaladShooter Electric Slicer/Shredder
Silly? Sure. Useful? YOU BETCHA!
We laughed and laughed when we received this "as seen on TV" slicing and, well, grating "miracle product" as a gift. Who would actually use such a crazy thing? Well, it turns out that we would, frequently. It may not dice, but it does slice beautifully - thin and uniform, as well as grating everything from cheese to potatoes to carrots to ... you name it. We use it almost daily. If you're a vegetable eater or a cheese lover, you won't know how you lived without it. Easy to assemble and disassemble, and it's dishwasher safe, although you do have to position the parts correctly to maximize water flow and cleaning. You can do a fine or a coarse grate, a straight or a wavy slice. You can even get an ice shaver for making snow cones. It does have some limitations. While it grates all kinds of cheeses (softer cheeses work best when chilled), it can't slice cheese at all. Nor does it slice onions, celery or other "stringy" vegetables well. It will grate them, though. It slices cucumbers,...

A great little appliance!
I have not had my salad shooter long but I have been very pleased with how easy it is to use and how easy it is to clean up after using it. I use a lot of coconuts making coconut kefir from the coconut water and then I have to find something to do with all that coconut meat or throw it away. After having so much coconut flour and coconut milk, I still had more left over that I did not want to throw away so I started shredded it. Shredded it by hand meant I was also shredded my hands. Not an option. After reading what others had written about the Salad Shooter, it sounded like something I would rather have than the shredder attachment to my Kitchen Aid. The reviews on that was not as good as the reviews on the Salad Shooter. I ordered the extra attachments for it and was surprised at the speedy delivery. One was not included in the order for some reason but they were swift to get it to me. I had intended to use it mainly for shredding the coconut but once I had it I started using it...

Another replacement
Years and years ago, someone gave my mother a salad shooter. She was so impressed - and Mother knew everything "kitchen" - she bought me one. I don't even know how many years I had it, but she has been gone for 6 years, and it was long before that. Well, last week, it was grating some potatoes for me, and it just gave up the ghost. For some reason, I'd never considered that that could happen! My beloved salad shooter was no more. Well, guess what! I came right to my computer and ordered another one, which, thank goodness, came today.
Maybe I should stock up in case they stop making them! How does anyone cook without a salad shooter?

Quickly slices or shreds vegetables, fruits, cheese, and more for sensational salads, perfect pizzas, terrific tacos and delicious desserts. Takes the work and mess out of making salads - one ingredient after another shoots right into your salad so there are no extra bowls to clean! Extra easy to use - interchangeable slicing and shredding cones slip right in. No complicated parts to assemble. The SaladShooter makes a fabulous gift for those who like big, healthy salads loaded with veggies, homemade pizza with plenty of grated cheese, desserts topped with nuts or chocolate--find yourself in that portrait somewhere? Amazingly fast, the SaladShooter literally shoots out prepared food directly into a salad bowl or in neat piles for an assemble-your-own taco party. Featuring sharp stainless-steel cutting blades, the two interchangeable cones, one for shredding and one for slicing, each slip in and out of the main chute and are secured in place with a twist-lock ring. That’s all--no complicated parts to assemble. Food should be cut into blocks or lengths that fit into the food chamber, and a chart in the user guide specifies which cone to use for which foods. To operate, one hand grips the handle of the shooter and flips on the power switch, while the other hand presses down on the food guide to produce a steady output of shredded or sliced food. There’s no need to wash the parts in between processing different kinds of food, so shredded cheese, lettuce, carrots, and more are ready one after the other. All parts except the motor base can be washed in the dishwasher. The SaladShooter is not intended for grinding coffee or processing cranberries, tomatoes, or meats. Measuring 9-1/2 by 7 by 3-1/2 inches with a five-foot cord, the SaladShooter is covered by a two-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

  • Quickly slices or shreds large amounts of vegetables, fruits and cheese
  • One ingredient after another can be added without cleaning in-between
  • Shoots food right into a salad bowl, onto a pizza, or into soup
  • Interchangeable slicing and shredding cones easily attach
  • Dishwasher-safe (excluding motor base); 9-1/2 by 7 by 3-1/2 inch

Presto 02970 Professional SaladShooter Electric Slicer/Shredder, White
I use this for one thing and one thing only
This thing rocks for shredding cheese! My family doesn't like the pre-shredded stuff, and loves to just grab handfuls of freshly shredded cheddar cheese to munch on. However, normally shredding cheese involved grating your knuckles in the process, and a lot of arm muscle. Enter, the Salad Shooter!

I purchased my Salad Shooter last November. I buy 2 lb bricks of Tillamook cheese, and cut them into 5 pieces so they'll fit into the chute. This is the most time consuming part of shredding cheese for me now, and it doesn't take that long! Then, I shred the cut sections of cheese. Yes, the Salad Shooter is loud, but it only takes me seconds to shred 2 pounds of cheese. So, I don't mind the noise.

Clean up is easy. A quick rinse to get the bigger bits of stuck cheese off (not sure if this is even necessary, but I do it anyway), and then everything goes in the dishwasher, except for the motor bit, and that only rarely needs a quick wipe with a paper towel. I...

Everyone should have one!
I should have had one years ago but no one told me how wonderful the Salad Shooter is. My husband loves it also & uses it equally. I keep it on the counter next to the coffee maker with the large slicer attached.
It's small, pretty & gets used almost daily. Cucumbers, yellow squash, zucchini - rinse, cut small slice off ends & drop in Salad Shooter. Out the other end come beautiful slices that get eaten in our salads instead of looking good in the refrigerator. Mushrooms slice in a few seconds & look so attractive on casseroles or salad. Wash 3 potatoes, cut in half & insert in SS. I shoot them directly onto a cookie pan. Spritz a little oil or not - add some paprika & grated parmesan - into a 350 oven for 25 minutes & instant potato chips that are good for you. Radishes, celery, lettuce head, cabbage - everything comes out looking beautiful. Switch to grating cone & I can grate 2 pounds of cheddar or other cheese in about 2 minutes. I place it in a plastic tub for use during the...

Such a handy tool in the kitchen
I had a small version of salad shooter, it was great, used it for so many years, but now the blade was dull, and I kind have to push the veggy into the machine to be cut them. I decided the next salad shooter I buy should be slightly larger. So I bought this salad shooter professional series, which is great, having some features that are so important in a kitchen where cooking takes place almost every day: multiple cones to change, large feeding place for the veggy, fast, light, eassy to clean including in the dishwasher, still small enough to store in small spaces, efortless to cut and shread your veggy, no need for knife and cutting board.

What I like the most about this product is the fact that when I put veggy in it to be cut, shread..., the machine almost vaccum them in to be cut, so I do not have to push it in, probable du to sharp blades an fast speed of rotation of the blades. This way your work is done in no time.

In my oppinion it is a tool you must have...

Just point and shoot for delicious salads, pizzas, coleslaw, hash browns, tacos and much, much more! Professional size, power, speed and capacity. Bonus! Includes extra accessories for ripple cuts and thick slices, plus a handy funnel guide.

  • Slice or shred vegetables, fruits, and cheese for delicious salads, soups, tacos, pizzas, desserts, and much more
  • Inlcudes four interchangeable cones for making regular slices, thick slices, ripple cuts, and shreds-plus a handy funnel guide
  • Chops nuts, grates chocolate, even makes bread and cracker crumbs; Just point and shoot right where you want

Black & Decker FP1600B 8-Cup Food Processor, Black
Loud but works great!
I am giving this product 5 stars because it works excellent for the price. But I do need to wear ear plugs if I am going to use it for more than a couple of seconds. If you are looking for something more quiet, this is not for you. However, if you are looking to save money and do a great job and can deal with the noise, then this is for you. The large 8 cup workbowl is perfect for chopping things in together.

One other thing I have to say is the slicer slices pretty thin - thinner than it looks in the picture. I sliced carrots and they were about 1/8 inch in thickness.

Better And More Versatile Than A Chopper
Though this mid-capacity food processor has its drawbacks (please see my review of Black and Decker's 10-cup PowerPro model for the low-down on the unstable suction-cup feet), you certainly can't beat the price--especially if you're considering buying one of those tiny food choppers which hold no more than a few cups and can't take the heat during heavy use. We've owned several of the latter and were always disappointed in that they couldn't even chop well; half the food clung to the sides of the bowl, while that in the middle tended to get pulverized. The blade of an expensive brand's jammed on its flimsy pin stem grinding raisins and was not able to be repaired without returning to the manufacturer. This processor, on the other hand, not only chops but shreds and slices quite decently, with more power and a larger work bowl. We made a cottage cheesecake to test it and the results were pretty smooth. The metal blade did a good job of powdering the grated dry cheese flavoring when...

Vroom!
This was to replace a smaller food processor that broke. It's easy to use and assemble. The suction cups on the bottom can be a little annoying when it comes to moving it around, but it makes up for that in sheer power! It speeds through anything I have fed it so far. I mostly shred veggies and such. It takes care of them in no time making my previous food processor look pathetic. Annihilation! That was what popped into my head the first time I used it. It was actually fun! Love it!

Perfectly slice, chop, mince, mix and shred your favorite foods with the durable stainless steel chopping blade or the slice and shredder disk.

  • 450-watt food processor for slicing, dicing, chopping, mincing, grating, and more
  • 8-cup-capacity work bowl; continuous-flow feed chute with pusher; on and off/pulse buttons
  • Safety interlock system; suction-cup feet; cord storage; dishwasher-safe parts
  • Includes stainless-steel chopping blade and reversible slicing/shredding disc

Vicks Humidifier, Warm Mist

Vicks Humidifier, Warm Mist

Vicks Humidifier, Warm Mist
really works great so far
I bought this warm mist humidifier after owning a vaporizer and a cool mist humidifier. The vaporizer was fine except that it was too hot and burned my son's arm, so i needed something else. The cool mist humidifier (different company) broke very fast besides for the expense of changing filters.
This humidifier is great.
1) The warmth is very soothing but not too hot-it won't burn you if you put your hand over the mist.
2) It never leaks onto the floor or gets the surrounding furniture wet (the other one did all the time).
3) It is whisper quiet. You can hardly hear the very soft humming sound even when right near it even on high.
4) It gives out a nice amount of humidity even on the low setting.
5) It is very simple to clean.
6) It is very light and easy to fill up.
On the low setting the water lasts well over 12 hours-I haven't timed exactly how long. On high it goes for about a little over 11 hours. The auto shut-off works very nicely...

Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier V745A
I purchased this product 3 weeks ago. I chose it because I prefer a warm mist humidifier and did not want to be bothered with filters. It has been great. If you follow a few basic steps, keeping it clean and running at top performance is not a big issue.

1. Empty the tank whenever unit is going to be off for more than a couple hours. I forgot to do this once and it formed lots more scale and took a lot more time and effort to remove it.

2. If you do not use distilled water (which I don't), descale the heating chamber with white vinegar every day or two. White vinegar is cheap. I don't have to mess with gallons of distilled water bottles or filters for my faucet. I live in a very hard-water area and this method has worked for me: When I get up, I unplug the unit, empty the tank, and put vinegar in the heating chamber. By the time I've showered and dressed, the mineral deposits have begun to fall away from the heating unit. It only takes a bit of prodding...

Heaven sent
I received an Evenflow vaporizer during my shower and thought it would help once baby & I got sick. Way to small for my room. I looked at many vaporizers and warm mist humidifiers that would actually work in our room. This one was perfect. I doesn't run out in the middle of the night, and helps keep the room warm when the heat goes down to low at night [apartment headaches]. The amount of night time coughing has lowered and asthma triggered dryness and dry sinis at night have ended. Perfect buy without the high cost.

Model V745A. Up to 96% bacteria-free steam (Intertek-ETL Test Report 3120389-COL-001. Based on independent laboratory testing report. Results are based on the reduction of the following bacteria after 2 hours of continuous us: E. coli showed up to a 96.4% reduction; S. epidermis showed up to a 95.5% reduction. P. fluorescens showed up to a 95.2% reduction.). Relieves cold & flu symptoms. Better breathing everyday. 2 Settings for ideal comfort. Automatic shut-off. Soothing glow nightlight. Medium/Large room size. Up to 12 hours of operation. 1.0 gallon capacity. The warm mist humidifier helps combat excessive dryness, providing these benefits: Keeps your respiratory system moist, allowing it to fight off bacteria, viruses and pollutants; Relieves cold, flu and hay fever symptoms; Relieves dry, irritated and itching skin and eyes; Relieves coughs and dry, scratchy throat; Helps you breathe better and sleep more comfortably; Stops dryout damage to plants, paintings and furniture. Medicine cup for Kaz Inhalant or Vick VapoSteam. Dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. Cooling chamber mixes dry room air with pure steam vapor. Whisper-quiet operation won't disturb your sleep. Locked boiling chamber. Heater features non-stick coating for easier cleaning. Carrying handle. Translucent tank shows water level. 1.0 Gallon capacity, operates at least 12 hours on a single filling. Second handle on bottom of tank for easier filling and carrying. Tank floor designed to drain completely, no standing water. Power switch with two output settings and built-in nightlight. High for maximum moisture or larger rooms. Low maintains a comfortable humidity level in average rooms. Pure steam vapor restores moisture to dry indoor air and helps relieve cold and flu symptoms. UL listed. Made in China. When cold and flu season strikes, it’s time to take this warm mist humidifier out of the closet. The humidifier provides healthful vapor that can help relieve the dehydrating symptoms brought on by colds and the flu, helping nasal passages breathe easily again and easing the irritation of coughs and sore throats. It offers a wonderful alternative therapy for children, those who prefer not to take over-the-counter medications, and those who can’t take decongestants due to pregnancy or incompatibility with other medications. This low-noise humidifier also takes preventative measures against colds by putting enough humidity in the air to combat the dryness caused by many heating systems. The humidity moistens the respiratory system and helps it to actually fight off viruses, bacteria, and pollutants.

The translucent water tank is easy to fill and monitor and outputs about one gallon of moist air into the room--enough for 12 hours of continuous use on one filling. Dry air flows into the cooling chamber and combines with bacteria-free steam vapor from the boiling chamber. The warm, moist air is then released into the room without emitting any white dust. When the tank is empty, it totally drains without leaving any potentially bacteria-laden standing water in the bottom. Two settings--high and low--let you adjust the humidity level to the appropriate room size or moisture level. In addition, flu or cold sufferers can place Kaz Inhalent or Vicks VapoSteam in the included medication cup to further soothe symptoms. This humidifier has a dishwasher-safe cooling chamber and medication cup for hygienic cleaning and is covered by a three-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Hamilton Beach 70610 500-Watt Food Processor, White

Hamilton Beach 70610 500-Watt Food Processor, White
The best value in food processors
I have been through four food processors in the last few years. The Hamilton Beach 70610 is my latest. Not only do I like it the best of any I have used, it is far less expensive than my last one. Prior to the Hamilton Beach 70610 I purchased the very highly rated (by Amazon reviews) Braun K650. I think the Braun is well made. And it is said to be a bargain compared to the Cuisinart and KitchenAid models that cost twice as much. I wanted to love the Braun. However, in my experience the Hamilton Beach 70610 tops the Braun in many critical areas. And the HB costs a small fraction as much as the Braun.

Advantages of the Hamilton Beach 70610:
---------------------------------
1. Easier to clean than any other food processor I have seen.

2. Does a much better job chopping the vegetables I frequently use to the size I want them to be. I prepare a lot of leafy greens. Many food processors never get them right. One is left with either large unchopped pieces or,...

Excellent Processor
This is an excellent food processor. It has two speeds, plus pulse control so it allows for better precision when chopping. Some processors turn everything to puree, but with this one you have better control over how finely things are chopped. The grater/slicer disk produces very uniform pieces and is really fast! While running it's not too loud either. I highly recommend this processor, especially considering the reasonable price.

Great Value
This is excellent with every processing task, and I compared it to both my KitchenAid and Braun models. The motor is very powerful, the design is simple, and all the parts are very easy to clean. Check your local WalMart if you have one closeby because this sells for only $34.96 there.

Full size 10-cup Food processor - for large batch processing Has 525 watts of power with 2 speeds plus pulse speed option for maximum versatility- 2 functions- slcing- shredding, from a reversible stainless disc . Has large stainless steel chopping blade & oversized feed chute. Dishwasher safe bowl & blades .Internal cord storage

Vicks V4500 FilterFree Humidifier

Vicks V4500 FilterFree Humidifier

Vicks V4500 FilterFree Humidifier
No Filters!
OK, I have had this humidifier for about two months now. Make sure you are aware of the requirements of a filter-free humidifier before you buy one. First of all, I couldn't stand having a filtered humidifier. Constantly having to buy filters, they'd be out of stock at Target, unavailable for my brand at the supermarket, just too annoying, and honestly, they're several bucks every time. Why can't I just clean my own humidifier?

So here's the thing. If you opt to go filter free, read the documentation. I think a lot of the negative reviewers here aren't following the instructions... you have to clean your humidifier ONCE A WEEK. Some people are reporting, 'I have had my humidifier for a month and it's starting to stink.' Well, have you cleaned it four times since you've had it?

And yes, I would say, it's a bit of stretch to call this whisper quiet. Like any device running while you're trying to sleep, you're going to hear it. And when you're lying down...

no problems with the right precautions
For me this has worked perfectly for months now, keeping the air in the room with my guitar at just the right humidity. I bought mine elsewhere but have had others and this one works just fine if you know what you are doing and take precautions. Not for every one, but for most, the red / orange is not mold but iron in your water. For most but not all, the white powder is lime in your water. This is a fact of life for many areas of the country and why people use water filters and water softeners. If you are in a problem area, use a Brita pitcher to filter the water you fill it with. I have tried it with our softened water with no problems but we recently got rid of the softener and will soon be switching to truly filtered water for the entire house. Until then I use a filtered water pitcher. All humidifiers have this problem. Even Consumers gave none more then an average rating for this problem. Baking soda, light bleach mixture, special cleaner, or just let it completely dry...

It works to humified the room just as we wanted!
I am suprised by all the negative reviews. We bought 1 for my oldest daughter last year (end 2006) as she had croup and it worked just fine. A few months ago my youngest daughter had also a cold and cough at the same time as my oldest so we went back to buy a second one.

We don't have mold issues (even though very often if it is not in use we forget to take the water out...and to take the water out is recommended)

It makes the room humid enough (windows are wet the next morning) the best thing for cold/coughing instead of dry air.

Yes it makes quit a lot of noise when it is running but it doesn't cause a problem for my 2 girls to feel or stay in sleep.

And yes we had the first time we used also the waterproblem as we didn't put it back right. But after that never had a problem again...

They are both still working!

Vicks V4500 FilterFree Humidifier has NO filters to buy or replace - ever!

  • Whisper quiet operation
  • Featuring Vicks Vapor Therapy with integrated scent pad heater
  • Large open - easy clean tank
  • Adjustable mist intensity
  • Protec Ball compatible

Hamilton Beach 62695V Power Deluxe Hand Mixer

Hamilton Beach 62695V Power Deluxe Hand Mixer

Hamilton Beach 62695V Power Deluxe Hand Mixer
...but you have to be careful with it
This is an addendum to my earlier review on this product, which is now "resting in peace" (more precisely, pieces).

I burned it out the other night while making a batch of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (the dough for these is heavier than the tollhouse recipe I tested in my first review). A puff of white smoke was my only warning -- in fact, it wasn't really a warning, but the signal that my mixer would mix no more.

I opened the appliance to see if a fusible link had protected the motor. Alas, there was nothing like that, just light-gauge wires and springs that popped out. The motor died, and the motor is the heart of the mixer.

Still, I want to let my 4-star rating stand, with the warning that this mixer is really meant for lighter-duty use. It still represents a good value. Just be aware that if you're doing things like mixing heavy doughs, you'd really be better off with a small stand mixer.

Disgusting and dangerous - Chrome plating flaked off the beaters into my cake
Stay away from this product. It should be recalled. I was using this mixer for only the second time. I made a simple cake and while pouring it into the cake pan, I noticed dark little bits that turned out to be little metal colored flakes. I inspected the beater and saw that it was shedding chrome plating. You get what you pay for but I would think it would be cheaper to NOT plate the beaters and certainly cheaper not to face a recall.

Works well
I cook for a family of 5.

I make a lot of mashed potatoes that need whipping.

I have gone through my share of hand mixers.

So far I don't have any complaints about this hamilton beach model. It is powerful enough to whip up the potatoes. It comes with a case that fits right onto the bottom of the mixer that holds the cord and the beaters. This is wonderful since I no longer have to search through the drawers looking for the beaters.

Over all a wonderful mixer for the money if your just looking for a normal household hand mixer.

Powerful 225 watts. 6 speeds with quickburst button. Special low speed to reduce splatter. Traditional beaters and whisk. Bowl rest mixer stabilizer. Deluxe wrap and snap cord. With a 225-watt motor for accomplishing tough jobs, this compact hand mixer provides power and versatility. Includes traditional beaters and whisk for whipping cream and beating egg whites come with the mixer, and six speeds are available by pushing a button atop the handle with your thumb. In addition, just below the speed control, there is another thumb-activated button, which Hamilton Beach calls the QuickBurst. This button provides an extra charge, available at any speed, for powering through tough tasks. Other attributes include a rest so the mixer can hang on a bowl's edge instead of messing up the counter with dripping beaters or whisk, a flat platform on the mixer's end so it stands up for compact storage, a tangle-free cord, and dishwasher-safe beaters and whisk. --Fred Brack

Sonya Portable Compact Small Laundry Dryer Apartment Size 110vstainless Steel Drum Transparent Lid 8.8lbs Capacity/2.65cu.ft.
Nice and compact - works well
Works well in my cabin. Connects to a regular 110v plug and is light weight to move around and wall-mount. Generates enough heat to dry things well, and seems to operate like a regular dryer, but smaller. Large enough for essentials like sheets, or a small load of towels.

No sensor to stop when dry, but by setting the timer, I don't really miss it.

Mine came dented in transit, but was superficial, so bent it back rather than returning it. Pretty sure it was a FedEx issue, not manufacturer. Constructed of light-weight metal, and components - perhaps more susceptible to transit damage, but fine for everyday use unless you are going to be unusually rough with it.

No complaints to date.

A Great Dryer!
I live alone in a foreclosed home I purchased about two years ago. After being ripped off by the electrician, and not being able to use my 220V dryer, I decided to give this a try. I am so glad I did. I no longer have to carry my washed laundry to the laundromat to dry it or hang it outside on the clothesline. The Indiana winters are brutal and it's not a pleasant experience dragging two or three laundry baskets to the laundromat; having to bring everything home and putting it all away. I have this little dryer in my bedroom, right next to a dresser that I use for socks, underwear, and pajamas. I was worried that it would take forever to dry my clothes but it doesn't really take that long. I don't think that it adds too much moisture to the room; in fact, during the winter with the heat on, you need a little moisture. I really love this dryer! It comes fully assembled and has two lint filters. I always make sure they are cleaned before using.

awesome compact dryer
this dryer is small for those who don't have room. and it dries really good the first load takes a little longer but once it heats up it dries the rest really good. it is quiet too

Nostalgia Electrics RIC-100 Retro Series Automatic Ice Maker, Red

Nostalgia Electrics RIC-100 Retro Series Automatic Ice Maker, Red
Worked great for 10 months, then broke
First let me say that I loved this ice maker. It was the only source of ice in my home and I used it several times a week over the last 10 months. Around the holidays and in the summer it was used almost daily. It was loud as some other reviewers indicated, but something you can get used to. It made the amount of ice as described in the online descriptions. The color attracted me to this unit, as well as the price. It was cheaper than some of the other units I had been reviewing for purchase. This machine was exactly what I expected.
Recently, it stopped working. The unit won't power on consistently. When it finally does power on, the ice tray is malfunctioning due to a crack running up the side. I contacted the manufacturer, but because it was out of the 90 or 180 day warranty period there was nothing they could do except to recommend a local appliance repair shop. I don't recommend this model or this manufacturer. The manufacturers' user guide for this ice maker touts...

lousy manufacturer worked 6 months then broke
Seems that many of us had common problems.
I had this machine for less then a year and it stopped working, the ice tray broke and the motor will not turn on. The manufacturer will not do anything because it was out of warranty. They would not even do anything else to help me. I feel that this product is not worth the money and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Ice Tray Broke, Can't Get Help
I've used this ice maker every day for most of 2 years. I know its out of warranty, but when an ice cube got stuck under the tray, it cracked up the side. I'm willing to buy a new ice tray, but can't get any help to do so. I'm getting told that there are no parts available for it. So because a 2 dollar plastic part broke, I'm out $200. Up till now, I've had no problems with this ice maker, but if you need help later on, don't expect much. My initial review was 1 star, but it should be 4 stars for product and 1 star for product/customer service. What good is any product without some kind of customer service? Your not going to buy a car if the tires that come on it are not replaceable and when worn out, you have to buy another car, are you? $20,000 or $200. It does not matter.

With its retro-style housing and portable design, this countertop appliance can produce up to 26 pounds of ice per day. The small ice machine works with regular tap water or bottled water and can hold up to a gallon at a time. Easy to use, simply plug in the unit, fill the reservoir with water, and it quickly and efficiently takes care of the rest. The ice-cube maker produces the first batch in as little as 6 to 15 minutes, and it drops nine cubes per cycle. A user-friendly push-button control turns the unit on and off, while a -inchselect-inch button allows for choosing from three different size cubes--small, medium, or large. An ice scooper comes included. Ideal for use in the kitchen, bar area, or office, the ETL-approved ice machine measures 11-1/2 by 11-4/5 by 14-1/4 inches and carries a 90-day limited warranty.

Cuisinart TTG-500 Two-to-Go Coffeemaker

Cuisinart TTG-500 Two-to-Go Coffeemaker

Cuisinart TTG-500 Two-to-Go Coffeemaker
Overall, good and quick
I bought this for the purpose that the machine was designed for, drinking coffee on the go. It's not the traditional coffeemaker that's used for sipping coffee while lounging around reading the newspaper on a Saturday morning. But, it's very convenient, since there is no carafe to wash or worry about. It's also a quick brewing maker. The coffee tastes very good, but don't expect to let it sit there since there's no hot plate. I suggest brewing it right before you leave and put the thermos top on right away. The machine is the bare minimum in bells and whistles (one button, the on or brew button). The two thermos' are very nice and keep the beverage fresh and warm for usually 2-3 hours. The only complaint that I have about the whole product is the thermos tops though. They are very tricky to drink out of without dribbling... a bad thing if you're driving in traffic, and one that could have embarrasing consequences on your pants or shirt if you're going straight to work. If you can...

Great coffeemaker- just a couple of minor suggestions...
My husband and I found this at a store at a very reduced price, and decided to pick it up. We have a traditional coffeemaker already but my husband finds that he usually does not drink the entire pot of coffee, so he winds up with a lot of wasted coffee. Pluse we figured that at the price we were getting it for, it was worth the price for the two stainless commuter mugs alone.
I am very impressed by how well this works. The coffee comes out tasting very good, and it's very fast. Due to the ease of making coffee with this machine I even find myself drinking coffee a lot more often than I used to- I used to NEVER drink coffee.
However, I do have a couple of minor suggestions to Cuisinart for future editions of this coffeemaker: it would be really helpful if the base had some kind of warming feature. Since these mugs have stainless steel surfaces they cannot be microwaved, so if you can't drink the coffee immediately it would be nice if there was a warming element on the...

Two to Go. One bigger than the other.
Many things about the design are good, especially its simplicity. There is one area, however, where a little more complexity may have paid off. Even before I brewed the first batch, I was curious about how the unit would evenly distribute the coffee between the mugs. The answer is: Not well.

The mechanism for separating the two streams of coffee is a sloping divider that peaks below where the coffee drips from the filter funnel. Half of the coffee is supposed to find its way down one side and half should go down the other. Does that happen? Not in the 6 batches I've brewed since receiving this as a gift.

I have always found that one cup is almost twice as full as the other. Watch out if you are planning to brew two full cups, one will overflow if you are not carefull. I'm thinking of putting a few matchbooks under one side to see if that evens out the distribution. Talk about your jury-rigs.

Ok, I will concede that it make a good, hot cup of coffee that stays hot for a...

Worry-free convenience for commuters. This sleek machine brews filtered coffee directly into two travel mugs then automatically shuts itself off. (For one mug, use the single-brew setting.) 14-oz. stainless steel mugs have tight-fitting lids and slip-free grips. Comes with a #2 filter starter kit. 13-1/2Hx6-1/2Wx8-1/4D".Perfect for preparing coffee at home before dashing out the door, this coffeemaker brews through the lids directly into either one or both of the 14-ounce travel mugs accompanying the machine. The stainless-steel mugs have rubber, nonslip grips, fit most vehicle cup holders, and are 6-3/4 inches high, with 2-5/8-inch-diameter rubber bottoms. Lids keep coffee hot in the mugs and are deeply indented and sloped toward the drink hole to contain spills. Both mugs and their lids are dishwasher-safe. The coffeemaker uses disposable paper filters (two included), automatically shuts off after the brewing process, and can also be used to heat water for tea, hot chocolate, and instant foods like oatmeal and soup. Made of gleaming black plastic, the coffeemaker measures 13 inches high, 5-1/4 inches wide, and 8-1/2 inches deep, and carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Amana Standard Tub Dishwasher, ADB1000AWB, Black

Amana Standard Tub Dishwasher, ADB1000AWB, Black

Amana Standard Tub Dishwasher, ADB1000AWB, Black
Not the best, but good value for the money
Bought this at a local appliance store for $229.00, a good price for a dishwasher, I didnt need anything special, I just wanted something to clean my dishes so I could stop handwashing them. I had it installed and it looks and works great, very simple, basic controls, does a good job cleaning and rinsing the dishes.
My only complaint is the silverware basket is very small, about less than half the size of my old dishwasher, and the smallest I have seen in any model, I didnt notice that when I purchased the dishwasher. I wish I had kept the old basket from the old machine.
Other than that, its built well, all metal exterior something you dont see in other brands, and seems sturdy, more so than the one I replaced.
Overall, a good value for the money.
If you want a basic machine that washes dishes, this is the one to check out.

NO COMPLAINT HERE!
All I wanted was a dishwasher that would wash, rinse and dry a normal cycle. My other dishwashers have always had so many choices that I never, ever used. Just something more to go wrong. This dishwasher is very basic and does an excellent job of washing the dishes. I agree with the review stating the silverware compartment is very small, but I took their advice and saved my compartment from my last dishwasher and it fit beautifully and now I have lots of room for silverware. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Great machine at this price
For a builders grade machine at this price point ($249) it's a great value. It's kinda small so if your a family of five I would look elsewhere. The racks are not terribly useable and the silverware basket is also small. It's noisy. It cleans the dishes like crazy though. Electro-mechanical controls...so no touch pads or sensitive electronics to fizz out. It doesn't take three hours to cycle, there's no "green" nonsense built into the machine, and it uses a lot of water. My dishes have never been cleaner. I saved a ton by resisting the urge to buy a high digit machine with a million questionable features. I'm glad I did, I saved hundreds.

Panda Small Compact Portable Washing Machine(6-7lbs Capacity) with Spin Dryer

Panda Small Compact Portable Washing Machine(6-7lbs Capacity) with Spin Dryer

Panda Small Compact Portable Washing Machine(6-7lbs Capacity) with Spin Dryer
Spin dryer seems even smaller than advertised. Lol.
I only give a 4 star rating because the spin dryer is incredibly small, but the washer appears larger than advertised. However this leads to spending quite a long time spin drying your wash-load piece by piece. Thus, I'm considering purchasing the Laundry Alternative spin-dryer which seems like it can hold a larger load to spin dry.

I've only used both aspects of the unit once, but the washer seems incredibly powerful and washes clothing really well. I like that it lacks a center pin to tear your clothing or get trapped/ wrapped around. This unit seems much better than their previous model with clear, blue, plastic siding. The previous model looks incredibly flimsy, this newer unit looks and feels very sturdy. I worry about the hosing on the new model, which might need to eventually be replaced. The hosing seems so soft and flimsy.

Warning: The unit gives off a powerful, acrid, plastic, chemical smell. It is incredibly pungent. Hopefully whatever it is will...

Read all the information and realize what you are getting...
We received this item yesterday and washed a few loads of underwear and shirts. The tub is fairly small and the spinner is even smaller. It does a pretty good job on these items, but we did have to load the spin side several times to take care of what was in the washer. Going through this process over and over, then rinsing all of it was time consuming. Today I started washing my blue jeans. I wear 38x34 which aren't exactly the size of a two-person backpacking tent. The tub will hold two pair but the agitator didn't work, so I had to wash one pair at a time. Washing, rinsing, and rinsing again along with pumping water out and refilling between all the steps took nearly half an hour per pair. It works but is very time consuming when washing a heavy item. Now that we have all the laundry caught up it will be better if we wash a small load each day. If it piles up it will kill the better part of a day. It works, but don't expect a regular washing machine. This will keep you...

i love this item~
it is a amazing item, the mother is strong enough to get cloths clean and it didnt leak at all, i love it~ the one thing i can say i dont like about it is that its a little difficult to rinse and all the water doesn't get out of the hose and stays trapped inside but i quickly solved that by putting it in the bath tub, and its not as light as i thought, it is quite heavy, but still love this item, it gets my cloths clean, just dont over stuff it

George Foreman GRP4EMB Black Evolve Grill with 2 Grill Plates, 1 Deep-Dish Bake Pan and 1 Cupcake and Muffin Pan Insert
George Foreman G4 grill
This is, in my opinion, the best of the George Foreman grills.

It functions perfectly. The removable plates lock into place fairly well and do not slide around very much. It is incredibly easy to clean even without removing the plates.

The adjustable temperature and timers make cooking a lot easier when you don't have to guess at the actual temperature, like you do with so many of the other George Foreman grills.

It is sturdy, well built, and is designed to last. It fits easily onto a countertop, and I have had no problems with it whatsoever.

The one quibble I have is that the Bistro Grill does not actually shut off after it has been turned on for use, even if you press the power button again. You have to unplug it to get it to stop heating, and this is apparently by design according to the manual. This is counter-intuitive, and definitely not the way it should work. Pressing the power button should be a toggle. Press once, it turns on...

WoW! Easy, high-quality materials, sleek!
I bought this grill as a replacement for a "Ready-Set-Go" that was a piece of junk that fell apart after only a couple of uses. I really liked having a counter-top grill though, so i thought I'd give this Foreman a try! WoW! Am I glad I did! Grilled some Maple/Dijon/BBQ Glazed Salmon the first night, and it came out better than when I use my professional outdoor grill. I love the interchangable grill, deepdish, and muffin grill plates. The kids loved the deep dish pizza too! Now, if I can get George to offer an omlet and tiny muffins plate like I had with the "Ready-set-Go" this thing would be perfect. It's easy to use, quick and easy to clean with the removable plates, and versatile. Bottom line: buy it! ...and enjoy!

More like DE-volve
First off- I'm convinced many of these reviews are fake. Any time someone writes an unsavory review some person comes along the day after to click "unhelpful" on it even though it has way more information on it than the 2 -3 sentance reviews that have no information but only say "It's great, I love it"- the end. Yet those useless 5 star reviews that say absolutely nothing about the product get thumbs up as helpful. I would come to read the reviews on this product for months before purchasing because I was on the fence before buying it and I'm not kidding when I tell you that virtually any review that had 3 stars or less almost IMMEDIATELY had been clicked unhelpful by someone as if this was being monitored in some way. there are a few too many reviews where this is the only product the reviewer has ever reviewed here on amazon too which is fishy to me. Anyhow, I just don't understand why what I'm about to mention here was only mentioned by a few of the reviewers so far. I'll sum...

Sporting a sleek, durable design, this electric countertop grill with removable plates provides 84 square inches of cooking surface for endless cooking options. Its four interchangeable plates (each with convenient snap handles) consist of two grill plates, one deep baking pan, and one muffin pan. Lay the grill completely flat for even cooking when making pancakes, waffles, and muffins or when cooking eggs and hash browns. The unit's patented sloped design also offers an optimal grilling angle of eight degrees, which allows fat and grease to drain off for healthier meals and reduced smoke when cooking bacon, burgers, and more. In addition, the grill's 1-inch floating hinge accommodates thicker foods like steaks and pork chops, while its George Tough triple-coated nonstick surface ensures lower fat cooking and effortless food release of even the most delicate foods. Other highlights include signature Foreman elements that heat up quickly and deliver even heat across the entire cooking surface, from the center all the way to the edges; user-friendly electronic controls with a digital display, variable temperature control, and a 20-minute timer with automatic preheat; and an easy-to-clean design--simply wash the removable plates in the sink with a sponge or load them into a dishwasher. Accessories include a unique spatula that fits perfectly on the plate for smooth food removal and a customized drip tray for quick cleanup. The grill measures approximately 17 by 10 by 7 inches and carries a two-year limited warranty.
